I remember when I was a senior in high school I was participating in a Service Program at a local school for children with disabilities. It was a very rewarding experience, but I was 17 at the time, so I'm sure I missed alot of what the experience had to offer me.
Anyway, I remember coming in one morning feeling super sleepy. I didn't have classes that day, my only goal was to "show up". My program supervisor was a very keen lady and she quickly noticed that I "looked tired" and I told her how I went to bed late and I just couldn't get up. Not only that I must of hit my snooze bar like 3 or 4 times.
I wish I could remember her name so I could personally thank her. The reason I say that is because what she shared with me that day has been a part of my DNA for the last 33+years and it's something I now want to share with you.
She proceeded to explain about procrastination, hesitation, and living without intention.
Not preaching, just education and sharing her own life experience.
She told me your life starts each day from the minute your eyes open.
How you start your day matters.
When you use that snooze button on your alarm you are putting yourself on hold.
Seriously. Think about that!
You are programming your brain with a message that your goals, your success, your intentions are not your priority at least, not this day.
You are in effect giving yourself permission to put the things that you really want on hold.
She asked me straight out.

I am so grateful for the lesson that was shared with me that day and even more grateful that it has served as a constant reminder to me for all these years.
